On December 17, the Denver Eagles will hold our annual Alumni Basketball game, and for the 2nd year in a row, this event will be an opportunity for us to serve our community and help a family in need. In conjunction with the games, we shall be holding a shoot out and a silent auction, selling concessions, and accepting donations to help the Wittenberg family. Many of you may know the Wittenbergs, as they have been involved in the homeschool community for several years, and their daughter participated in Eagles soccer at one time.
Doug Wittenberg, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of thyroid cancer in December of 2015. By February of this year, Doug and his family knew they were facing terminal Stage IV cancer. They have been pursuing multiple methods of treatment throughout 2016, and the tumors continue to fight back with a vengeance.
Doug and Jennifer have been married for over 23 years, and have six children, ranging in age from 5-19. They are full-time Marriage and Family missionaries in Denver, and have given their lives to serving in various ministries, and building into others in Denver for over 20 years. As you can imagine, this year has taken a tremendous toll in multiple ways – emotionally, physically and of course, financially.
Please come join us for an evening to bless this family and enjoy watching our alumni play our current Denver Eagles’ teams! As we did last year, Denver Eagles will match all funds raised up to a total of $1,500.
The Alumni game will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Everitt Middle School Gym, 3900 Kipling Street in Wheat Ridge, 80033. All alumni interested in participating, please register at the following link: www.denvereagles.org/forms/13254-REGISTRATION-Alumni-Game-2016.
