DENVER EAGLES IS LOOKING FOR COACHES, ASSISTANTS, AND PLAYERS TO GROW ALL OUR PROGRAMS AND FULFILL OUR MISSION TO: GLORIFY GOD THROUGH ATHLETICS BY DEVELOPING THE CHARACTER OF HOMESCHOOLED YOUTH THROUGH COMPETITION AND BY BEARING CHRISTIAN WITNESS IN EVERY ROLE IN EVERY WAY IN EVERY SPORT.

 

We would like to fill positions in the following sports:

Girls Volleyball:  We have openings for coaches and assistants for our upcoming fall league (last year we had Varsity, JV, and Middle School teams).  Following are the specifics for the season and the coaching/assistant qualifications.

• Practice will begin early August.
  • High School teams will practice or compete four times/week. Practices will be held on M, Tu, Th from 4-6 pm and Fr TBD at a location in the south metro Denver area.
  • Middle School practices or plays two or three times/week.
• In addition to competing locally against Christian and charter schools, the JV and Varsity finish up the season at the Homeschool National Volleyball Tournament on October 24-26 in Council Bluffs, IA.
• Coaches and assistants should be familiar with 6-2/5-1 offenses and defensive systems, as well as able to help developing players work on technique for passing, setting, attacking, and serving. Our players have a wide range of experience, from completely novice to several years of club play.
• Coaches and assistants must be ministry-minded with a heart to disciple the players and encourage them to grow in faith and embrace Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior on and off the court. The positions are volunteer positions; however, stipends are given to cover transportation expenses to/from practices and competitions.

Basketball:  We have openings for coaches and assistants for our upcoming winter league (last year we had only a boys Varsity team, though historically we have had both boys and girls teams for varsity and JV, and have run a K-6 introductory program as well). 

• JH Season typically runs September through mid-Dec and HS runs mid-October though the end of February.
• In addition to competing locally against Christian and charter schools, there are opportunities to travel to out of state tournaments, usually in Kansas or Nebraska
• Coaches and assistants should be familiar with man and zone offenses and defensive systems, as well as able to help developing players work on technique for shooting, dribbling, passing, defending, and conditioning. Our players have a wide range of experience, from completely novice to several years of play.
• Coaches and assistants must be ministry-minded with a heart to disciple the players and encourage them to grow in faith and embrace Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior on and off the court. The positions are volunteer positions; however, stipends are given to cover transportation expenses to/from practices and competitions.

Soccer - boys play in the fall and girls play in the spring. We have openings for assistant coaches for our upcoming boys fall league. We are also looking for additional players to join the boys fall roster.

• Practice for girls begins in February, and the season lasts into early May.  Practice for boys begins in August and the season lasts into October.
• In addition to competing locally against Christian and charter schools, there are opportunities to travel to out of state tournaments. 
• The assistant coach would help develop the skills and knowledge of soccer.
• Our players have a wide range of experience, from completely novice to several years of club play.
• Coaches and assistants must be ministry-minded with a heart to disciple the players and encourage them to grow in faith and embrace Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior on and off the field. The positions are volunteer positions; however, stipends are given to cover transportation expenses to/from practices and competitions.

Boys baseball is both a spring and fall league sport, and is typically played at the Varsity level (though a JV/Middle School team is possible).  We are looking to add more players with the goal of having more than one team within the organization.

• The spring season typically lasts from February to May, while the fall season is from August to October.
• In addition to competing locally against Christian and charter schools, there are opportunities to travel to out of state tournaments.

Cross Country is for both boys and girls with a wide range of ages.  We have an opening for a coach for our upcoming fall season.

• The spring season typically lasts from August (when CHSAA permits) through September.
• Meets are entered into at the coaches discretion ranging from the mountains, to the plains, to the greater Denver area.

• The coach needs to be able to lead athletes on runs throughout the week. Being at meets is encouraged to cheer on runners but a head parent can be elected in place to grab packets and bib numbers.

The positions are volunteer positions; however, stipends are given to cover transportation expenses to/from practices and competitions.
